Last weekend I had the most amazing time ever. I mean concert-wise. The Hungarian community in the United Kingdom has been growing so fast for a few years now. And so is the need for Hungarian pop bands, musicians and other celebrities. This was the first time when Magna Cum Laude and Feró Nagy were invited to the UK to give a concert. It was mostly for Hungarians but I got to see some other people as well. The Clapham Grand as location proved to be breath-taking, not a common place for concerts.

I got to capture a few moments while enjoying their music…this was my first time photographing a concert and I pretty much enjoyed it.

The guys were discovered in 1999 in a talent show. They have several albums and have held many concerts over the past few years. The band has become one of Hungary’s most succesful pop-rock group.

 The members:

Mihály Mező – singer, guitar

Tibor Szabó – guitar, composer

Mihály Kara – bass guitar, lyricist

Imre Kilián – drum

József Milek – piano

A few words about Feró Nagy, the guest star of the evening… He’s a rock singer and musician, actor and lyricist. He began singing as a hobby in the 1960s in different rock bands, and became famous as the member of the band ‘Beatrice’, and later ‘Bikini’. He has released many albums and played in several movies, TV shows and theatrical plays as well. He was also one of the members of the jury in different talent shows.

So when he showed up on the stage…

…I got enchanted by his amazing voice! It’s was unbelievable, totally different than on TV or in the radio! I got a kind of shivering going through my spine when he started to sing. Being over 60, his voice has such a strength that is hard to describe!

It’s been quite long since I shared any photos from London, so now here you are. The weather is getting a bit chilly outside but I couldn’t resist…grabbed my tripod and headed to the city. Long exposure images are definitely out of my comfort zone, there are still so many things (and places) to discover…till then enjoy a few photos of the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben. And don’t forget to check London Eye from a different angle and some other favorite images taken in London.

Lolo

Nikon girls rock, yeah? Hahaha. Let me dedicate this post to my friend, Delphine. She’s from Paris, lives in London till Christmas and is a real party girl. Yesterday she had a great idea to visit Hard Rock Cafe. Can you imagine that I’ve never been to any Hard Rock Cafes in my life at all? All I’ve seen so far is that special black T-shirt with the Hard Rock Cafe inscription.

I was totally amazed when I stepped in, couldn’t say a word at all and stared at the instruments on the walls. It was also the paradise of lights and colors. A huge collection of autographed guitars, outfits from world tours and rare photographs can be found on the cafe walls.

Eric Clapton was a regular visitor in the restaurant. He gave them his un-signed Fender guitar as a gift in 1979. This prompted Pete Townshend of The Who to give one of his guitars, also un-signed with the note “Mine’s as good as his! Love, Pete”. Today Hard Rock’s archive includes over 70,000 items. Have a look at the photos and tell me if you recognize any of them.

To think or not to think? This is the question (or a never ending debate between men and women lol) on Facebook today. So now I’m starting a new project on FlickR, revealing my thoughts about life. Its title is ‘How I feel today’. My dear friend, Atish, told me I was always thinking too much – about nothing. I answered him it was rather caring – about my life, about everything. On the other hand I should stop thinking ‘cos it might kill my creativity. If I keep thinking about what I want to do or what I hope will happen, I won’t do it, and it won’t happen. So I stop thinking to start living. HOWEVER, there are seconds when I can’t stop the computer of my brain and I really need to capture these thoughts. Thinking is a kinda mental tool (or a crazy female habit…lol) that is ideally used to analyze our options objectively. Sharing my thoughts with you might help me stop cycling through them in my head…or not. Anyway enjoy the new series of photos of my crazy (or creative?) mind. Only on my flickr page.

I didn’t have too much to do yesterday. It’s funny that little things like a toy (+ my camera too) can make me sooo happy.

Usually I prefer using natural light but this time I really enjoyed palying with the lamps in the dark.

This is an older photo from my collection and I simply love it. I clearly remember the day when I grabbed my friend and my new tripod, and we drove crazily to the downtown to take some night shots at the bank of the Danube. The lights really are amazing. This is my town, that’s why I love it so much!
