Oh I can hardly believe it’s almost the end of October! I was pretty busy in the last couple of months so I’m planning to catch up with a few of my favorite summer sessions here on the blog this week. Let’s start with a beautiful ballet series. I have always been amazed by the gorgeous ballet photos that I came across either online or in magazines. Partly because I danced ballet when I was a little girl, not for long though. I love how all those angelic and graceful dance movements take my breath away whenever I see someone performing on stage in the theater, combined with some dramatic music and lights. Tutus and flowing dresses make the performances even more magical to me!
This time I had the opportunity to meet Sophie Wright, who is the director and dancer of The London Ballet Company. Sophie is one of the most committed, dedicated and motivational people I have ever met in my life. She not only amazed me with her dancing moves but changed my entire perspective about some basic things in life as well! Passion and dedication are simply the fuel for life and success. We had such a great time together!
We wanted to create an urban style ballet series in the heart of London. Oh how much I love shooting in the city! The Tower Bridge area proved to be an amazing iconic background for the photos. Since we were in the middle of the summer festival season, it was quite of a challenge to manoeuvre among the massive amount of people spreading all around and enjoying the music and their drinks. Then we headed to the bank of the river Thames to enjoy the last rays of sunshine before they set under the horizon.
Special thanks for Ann-Marie Lawson for the beautiful makeup she did for Sophie! I hope you enjoy the series as much as I do!
Wow! What a gorgeous Shoot!
Wow, you totally nailed the urban city look! Love the composition in so many of these – especially when you made Sophie’s pointe shoes the focus. These are gorgeous!

These are all so beautiful and creative. Love the black and white focused on the ballet shoe. And the urban background is a perfect setting.
