Today I’d like to share with you another gorgeous maternity session from my summer. I met Réka when she was in her 36th week expecting a little baby girl. When she first messaged me, I could feel so much excitement in her words! It was not only about the baby she was waiting for so much, but she likes taking photos as well. And I mean with a big girl camera. 🙂 So it was rather important for her to make some memories of these blessed days. We decided to meet in Holland Park in Kensington which is full of dreamy colors this time of the year. The sun was shining so brightly and I couldn’t wait to meet her!
While I was walking to the park, I started thinking about motherhood and all the things that make a new family’s life even more beautiful. I don’t have kids yet, I don’t really know this feeling and what it’s like. But I spent the last 10 years with watching my cousin’s – who is also my best friend – 3 kids growing up. We lived in the same street, just 5 minutes away from each other, before I left everything behind and moved away from Hungary. Even after living in London for 4 years now, I can still recall this strongest bond we built together during the years. I truly believe that waiting for a new arrival is the most magical stage in a woman’s life. It totally changes you inside and out and that inner glow spreads so quickly all around you and brightens all your loved ones’ lives. Knowing that a precious life is growing inside you makes you see the world so differently and you will start to appreciate the tiniest little things even more. As time goes by this bond will be stronger and stronger and I love seeing how a gorgeous mommy-to-be’s personality shines through these images. It’s such an amazing feeling that I can be a part of this and I feel truly blessed and thankful for all the women who ask me to capture these special moments for them!
Even though her belly looked like a giant melon as Réka said, she felt very energetic and was ready to enjoy this lovely afternoon with me and my camera. We walked and talked a lot during the session, even about photography and I never stopped admiring her glow coming from the deep of her heart. As I’m writing this post (a few months after the session) and looking out of the window from time to time I happily recall all these lovely memories we shared on this sunny afternoon. I hope you will love this series as much as I do!
